Meet Carlos Gil
In 2001 Carlos Gil was an 18-year old part-time shoe salesman living in Fort Lauderdale Florida and earning minimum wage. Over the last decade since, Gil has gone from working part-time retail to representing Fortune 500 corporations such as American International Group (AIG), Citigroup and Regions Bank in various leadership roles related to Branch and Portfolio Management. After years of hard work, dedication and professional development Gil, a non-college grad, is now a Social Media Pro and Entrepreneur as the President and CEO of a multi-dynamic consulting firm (CXG Group LLC) based out of Jacksonville, FL.
At only age 26, Gil has already made a successful name for himself while representing the world's largest financial corporations as an employee. As an emerging Entrepreneur and activist for the unemployed, Gil is now making an impact in the daily lives of many across America. Just six weeks after the Lehman Brothers and Wall Street collapse of September 2008 Gil lost his own job at insurance-giant AIG. Wasting no time Gil turned to on-line networking (LinkedIn) where he came up with the idea of creating a free employment search website to help fellow laid off professionals find jobs and connect with hiring companies.
Today, through his job connecting website JobsDirectUSA.com and online networking groups via LinkedIn and Facebook Gil is bridging the employment gap one job at a time. Gil has been featured nationally by various news media outlets for his passion and contributions in assisting job seekers throughout the U.S. In 2009 Gil's JobsDirectUSA.com, and affiliates, sponsored and hosted over 100 free grassroots networking events to connect the unemployed with recruiters of hiring companies forming a new job hunt trend in the process called the "Pink Slip Party" or "Pink Slip Mixer" - think speed dating for the unemployed.
In 2010 Gil's JobsDirectUSA.com will be launching the first-ever national "Pink Slip" Tour throughout the United States - an organized multi-city tour operated by volunteers to bridge the national employment gap one job at a time and help thousands of professionals find jobs.
